Steady State won't let me unlock user profile RRS feed

  • Question

I have Steady State installed on several of our library computers (the others have Shared Toolkit installed).  I have one machine that will not let me unlock the user profiles in order to make changes.  They are not open when I try to do this.  I click on the unlock and changed a few settings, but when it goes back to the first screen, the profiles are still locked.  I need to make several adjustments to the user settings.  I could probably delete these users and create new ones, but it seems like a waste of time.  Is there a setting I need to adjust?

For the locked user profile issue, let's try the following steps to unlock user profile manually:

    1.       Open SteadyState, click the user profile.

    2.       Uncheck the "Lock profile to prevent the user from making permanent changes" option under General tab to unlock the user profile, click OK.

    3.       Browse to C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\, please rename NTUSER.MAN to NTUSER.DAT

Let's check if we can unlock the user profile.
