EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION When Parsing Domain Cookies? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm getting EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION errors when accessing sites setting domain cookies 14 characters or longer - e.g., Set-cookie:domain=.salesforce.com.  I can reliably reproduce this with test code by adjusting the length of the domain cookie value.  Set-cookie: domain=.01234567.890 will work, while Set-cookie: domain=.012345678.901 will fail.

Are there any ways to work around this?  I've tried manipulating or deleting the cookie with app wrap, but the error appears to happen when parsing the response headers and before any app wrap transformations take place.

  • For posterity, it looks like this is a bug that hasn't been fixed as of UAG 2010 Update 1.  According to MS, when the value of the domain cookie exceeds the length of the trunk name you will see this error.  The workaround: lengthen your trunk name.  Nasty bug.
