cut and paste complete folders will not work but copy paste works. Why? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Trying to move several folders from one remote drive to another. Both remote drives were formatted in Windows XP.  I'm doing the move from a Windows 7 Pro laptop with both these drives connected by USB. I get errors with a HEX error code aborting the the "cut and paste". I just want to move the files.

Apologies...I'm doing a copy and paste right now, so I don't have the error code handy.

Under what conditions will cut and paste of XP folders/files when under Windows 7 Pro not work?

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

Does this issue occurs in all type files or just special trype files?

Please provide what type's file you can not cut.

    Regards.

  • If you don't have the proper permissions on the source drive. If you copy and paste, are you allowed to delete the folder afterwards?
