Upgrading from 2007 to 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've read many articles showing the upgrade path from DPM 2007 to 2010 but none that fit my scenario.  We have Windows Storage Server 2008 x64 installed on our DPM 2007 server.  Everything I read states that if you have Server 2008 x64 that you can upgrade successfully.  Will WSS 2008 x64 work just like the full blown version of Server 2008 X64?

    Thanks in Advance!

  • Hi,

Yes, Windows 2008 Storage Server X64 has been tested and is compatible for running DPM 2010.

  • Everything upgraded as planned but if I'd give one suggestion here it is.  If you were up to 2007 SP1 before the migration, you'd want to update all of your agents to SP1 so you can deploy the 2010 agents via the DPM console.  If not you'll have to push the new client out via SCCM or whatever app distro you enjoy.
