Windows 7 | Windows CE | ActiveSync | Time Synchronization RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

We have an issue with Motorola MC3190 devices (Windows CE 6.0) - we can’t access to the network resources/servers, synchronize time on terminal, etc. if device is connected via USB cradle [CRD3000-1000RR] & ActiveSync on PC with Win7 (Wi-Fi / GPRS connection not available).

    For example:

    \>ping localweb

    Pinging Host localweb []

PING: transmit failed, error code 11010

When terminal connected via Four-slot Ethernet Cradle [CRD3X01-4001ER] or via Wi-Fi all of the above problems are absent.

But in the same time FTP, HTTP traffic available on the device. All systems have the latest software/firmware.

Is it possible to configure Windows CE devices for the time synchronization via ActiveSync on W7 PC? What additional setting to be applied on WinCE and Win7 for it?

  • Hi mirosart,

This catalog is concentrated on the issue about the application compatibility of Windows 7 and we are not familiar with the settings of ActiveSync.

But I have made a deep research and found that we can sync the time with the Internet.
See ActiveSync connection settings and look for "PC is connected to Work/Internet/Automatic". If set to Automatic or Internet your device should be able to access the internet passing thru the ActiveSync connection.
Here is a link for reference:
Setting Windows Mobile device system time from computer?

As far as I know ,we use the Windows Mobile Device Center to sync with the mobile device in Windows 7. And the time will synced in the same time. Please keep the machine up to date.
    What happened to ActiveSync?

If you are using the Exchange Server 2013 Mobility and ActiveSync.
We can try to ask for help from our Exchange Server 2013 Mobility and ActiveSync forum. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.
