How can I remove a DPM 2010 protection group from Command Shell RRS feed

  • Hello,
    I want to delete/Stop a protection group. The protected server is not responding and the protection group cannot be delete through DPM 2010 management console. How can I delete protection group from Management Shell? Please help.

    You have to use "Remove-Childatasource" cmdlet : http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff631861.aspx

    Example from Technet :

    $pg = Get-ProtectionGroup -DPMServerName "TestingServer"
    $mpg=Get-ModifiableProtectionGroup $pg[0]
    $po = Get-Datasource -ProtectionGroup $pg
    Remove-ChildDatasource -ProtectionGroup $mpg -ChildDatasource $po[8]
