Exclude WSUS patch to a group RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, In my current WSUS setup, patches are approved for "All Computers" group. Now I got a requirement to exclude a 2 patches from installing on a set of computers. I created a separate group for them in WSUS, but couldn't figureout how to exclude the patches for this newly created group and its members.

    Can anyone help me?

    Thanks,

Answers

  • Hi. It sounds like you just want to set the 2 patches to not approved for a particular WSUS group.

    1. On the WSUS console toolbar, click Updates.
    2. Find these 2 updates you wish to set to not approved for your target group and select them.
    3. Under Update Tasks, click Change approval.
    4. In the Approve Updates dialog box, verify that Approval is set to Not Approved for your target group.
