Appv 4.6 SP1: Issue with sequenced application as it is unable to locate file which exists already? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I've an application which I need to sequence. I need to go with default installation and after completion of installation I need to copy sentinel file to C:\ProgramFiles\Theta\Xtools

While sequencing after the installation I copied the given sentinel file to the location where I redirected the application(Q:\Xtools.001)

As the sentinel file consists of License server information for which I don't have access and application is small I didn't launched the shortcut.

When I launch the shortcut in client It shows an error unable to locate sentinel file.

I tried with VFS too and even it's same.

I did same 5 applications of same type and from same manufacturer. All the remaining works as expected except this.

I opened virtual Bubble and verified that the file exists. Still sequencer is unable to locate it.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance..

  • Is the file being accessed via a relative path (or tokenized path - i.e. %PROGRAMFILES% - or will it be looking for a hard-coded path? That will be the mystery we try to solve. I would start with running a Process Monitor trace inside the bubble. and take a look at what it is trying to find (and how it is trying to open the file.)
