Sounds like a media path issue. Is the gateway betweeen your "normal" phone and the Lync clients enabled for media bypass?Wednesday, June 6, 2012 6:54 PM

I have one machine with SBS2011 installed which has 2 nework cables connected to a CISCO asa 5505. One cable is connected for DMZ to the EDGE (which is not configured yet).
On the SBS2011 I have 2 virtual machines running (HyperV) , one for Lync FE (Mediation, ....) , the other virtual machine is for the LYNC EDGE server.
On the CISCO 5505 I do a PAT for my LyncFrontEndserver using ports 5060 and 5061.
Media Bypass is enabled on the mediation server.

Well other than your configuration not being supported it seems like it should work. I would turn off media bypass and see what impact that has.Wednesday, June 6, 2012 7:28 PM

My sipprovider told me to turn it on?
What would be a supported config , using my current sbs and virtual machines?

I turned off media bypass, same issue.
And when I call from my cellphone the call is disconnected after 30 seconds, as if the lync does not know it is still connected

Please also check your firewall and port configuration. You can refer to this document.

I do notice that when I call to the LYNCuser I get a error in Wireshark saying Unknown RTP version 0 , it looks like LYNC is taking the call, but it cannot actually connect correctly or so;ething like that ?

What do the CDR's say for the calls? (I had a similar issue in the past and it ended up being the Cisco switch)Friday, June 22, 2012 7:17 PM
