Microsoft Passport for Work support for on-premises AD RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I want to know if Windows 10 in its latest build supports Key-based Microsoft Passport for Work credentials for on-premises AD?

If it does, how can I make sure in the workstation that it uses Microsoft Passport?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

It is supported by Windows 10 as workstation, but for Active Directory (AD) on-premises, it is deployed by Group Policy and available with production release of Windows Server 2016 Technical Preview as I know. So you’d better confirm with support in Server forum if you need details about this feature.

When a Microsoft Passport for Enterprise is successfully created and registered. Applications or services can trigger actions on this event. For example, a certificate provisioning service can listen to this event and trigger a certificate request. And for Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) an event would be created. I guess it also should be an EVENT for Active Directory (AD) on-premises.
