Backup restore with stsadm and file not found error RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I took backup of the entire sharepoint site (webapplication) with the following command:

    stsadm -o backup -url "http://inranetsite/" -filename "C:\intranet.bak"

and restored the site on other server with the following command:

stsadm -o restore -url http://newintranet/ -filename "C:\intranet.bak" -overwrite

After restoring I am able to open most of sites/subsites. But under some sites, when I click on documents or surveys or pictures , It shows "File Not found" error. Can anyone help me how to reslove this issue?

  • Are you sure, those sites/document library was working earlier ? if yes

Goto the problematic site (say if document library shows "file not found" error) and browse document library in the webfolder view  or map that document library as your network drive and check if the Allitems.aspx is existing or not.
