Hello, We have ONE Server 2003 Print Server with a couple of hundred print Q's on it. Today we had 3 printers go off-line.
OpsMgr did not give any alerts.
How can off-line printers be monitored?
(A search was done for "off" and "offline" in the Rules window for Microsoft Windows 2003 Print Servers Installation. No results were returned. So I guess this MP does not check for Off-line printers. Seems strange given that is such a common issue with printers. Thx, John Bradshaw
Is there any local events (event viewer) on the print server when this occur? Then you could create a new rule to generate alerts based on that event.Anders Bengtsson | Microsoft MVP - Operations Manager | http://www.contoso.se

You can create a WMI-based monitor to query printer status if there are no local events. But Event-based monitor is preferred by performance reasons. http://OpsMgr.ru/
