Get decrypted data from table from SQL Server 2016 with Always Encrypted RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all

I have a table dbo.Invoices in SQL Server 2016 where I have some columns which are encrypted. I would like to decrypt these columns when I extract the data in Power Query Excel 2016. I Choose  "From Database -> From SQL Server Database" in the "New Query" tab. Unfortunately I can't find anywhere to put in the setting: "Column Encryption Setting=enabled".

Where can I put this in? Or is decryption of Always Encrypted SQL 2016 tables yet not supported in Power Query?

To test this, I have made a small application where I set the "Column Encryption Setting=enabled" in .Net. This works fine! So my certificate is working as it should! So nothing wrong with my setup.

    Any help much appreciated!
