WOL pattern match do not work in windows 10 RRS feed

  • Question

  • i have x86 home nas (h81 mother board+i5 4670t+intel 1000 ET quad port lan)

under windows 8.1 i use WOL pattern match and it work well. intel 1000 ET nic does not support arp offload so 'ARP request' and 'netbios name qurey' wake it up

but under windows 10 arp request does not wake up nas at all and 'netbios name qurey' is working but not every time.

    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff543710(v=vs.85).aspx

and i found this it mean the 'pattern' is set by ndis related driver

then how can i check 'pattern' that ndis driver programed in nic?

i want to know windows 10 programed the same value but driver do not work properly or windows 10 have a different behavior and set different value..

and if windows 10 have a different behavior then how can i set it work like windows 8.1?

can i set 'bitmap pattern' manually?

  • Hi,

You can check if this is support in your NIC on Windows 10:

Please Note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this information.

Your issue could be related to the driver, not sure if the driver for your NIC is compatible with Windows 10 well.

Make sure you get the latest the driver from manufacturer's website for testing.
