Managing Programme (Program) Risks RRS feed

  • Hi All

    When a Programme has common risks associated across it's entire project set then where is the best practice to put the identified risks? I don't want them in a Project risk register as when that project completes we aren't monitoring the risks there any more.

    What is the best/common practice for managing a programme risk register.

  • Hi Alex,

    I usually have a custom field for identifying Program, Project and any type or work package which can be created as a "project" in terms of Microsoft Project. You could also choose another solution by createing EPT (Enterprise Project Type) instead of a project custom field. This really depends on your organization governance.

    Thus I create a project in PWA and flag it as a program. Eventhough I do not use the project plan itself in case my program does not contain any specific activities (which would not be included in the sub projects), I usually always use the project site with the lists (risks and issues, eventually deliverables) and documents librairies.
