Office 365 Skype for Business Error RRS feed

  • Hello ,

    We are using Office 365 service below is our plan. To use Skype for Business what all i need? Do i need to install any hardware/server in our own environment or just need to do configuration on Office 365 Admin portal and some DNS changes?  

    Office 365 Enterprise E3
    Azure Rights Management
    The latest desktop version of Office
    Skype for Business Online (Plan 2)
    Office Online
    SharePoint Online (Plan 2)

    Exchange Online (Plan 2)

    Currently when user try to sign-in into Skype for business app the below error message is shown. 

    "Couldn't find Skype for business server for mycompany.com There might be an issue with the DNS config of your domain."

    Your quick revert will be highly appreciated.

  • Hi,

    To use S4B Online you will need to assign the user with the appropriate license.

    You must also configure the DNS records detailed in the Office 365 portal.

    No additional hardware or software is required on premises for this to operate.

  • Just configure on the Admin portal and put in the DNS changes.  You'll want to set up lyncdiscover.yourdomain.com and others: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2566790

    No on premises hardware needed.

    Agree with Yoav Barzilay.

    You can use the setup guide to configure these settings.

    You'll find “Setup” menu in the left-hand navigation of the Office 365 admin center, click “Start Setup”, and then it will guide you through the steps to configure all the necessary settings.
