Question with "Download express installation files" option. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

If I enable this option in WSUS, what happens to all the files that were previously downloaded? Do they stay as is, or does everything get re-downloaded again in the express files format?

    Thanks,

    DM

  • Hi D_M_K,

I didn't find official article to state it, while during my test, it seems after checking "express file format", WSUS server will re-download all pervious update with express file format.

    Best Regards,

    Anne

  • Hi D_M_K,

What is your expected behavior, do you want the WSUS server to re-download all updates in express file format?

If yes, you may run  "cd /d C:\program files\update services\tools>wsusutil reset” in cmd to re-download all update files in Content folder.

    Best Regards,

    Anne

  • Hi Anne

I actually only want the future updates to be downloaded in the express file format.

Is this what will happen if I enable this on WSUS?

    Thanks, DM.
