Filtering who has access to applications RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello ,

In our lab we have successfuly setup APP-V 5 infrastructure (FULL), an it functions fine, users get the applications to which they have access to depending on their group membership.

Question: Is it possible to to provide access to applications by criterias other than user group membership, ex. PC's group membership, OU based, or any other criterias ?

    Thanks for your help,

    Luca

  • Not within the Full Infrastructure, however if you use SCCM 2012 w/ App-V you'll have what you need. You can deploy to connections based on IP. What's even better is that you can set very specific requirements also, if you wish. E.g. Only deploy to machines with a certain amount of RAM, Drive space etc. If you have SCCM 2012 in your environment, or are looking for a Distribution tool, I strongly suggest it.

  • Yes, it is possible to deploy to groups containing computer objects. You require Global Refresh set.

  • Thanks for your reply,

By the way, are there any other ways of filtering application distribution, for example by PC IP address range, location, etc.. ?
