Including VL version of Office 2010 in an image: When to set KMS Host?

I have created an image including Office 2010 enterprise to be deployed. I have read through the document Configure Office 2010 for capturing an image but am unclear on when I actually set the kms host. All it seems to tell you do to is to rearm it before capturing. We are not using autodiscovery, so it must be set manually. Before capturing the image, are the the correct steps?

Set KMS host using ospp.vbs (but do not activate with the /act switch)
Rearm office (ospprearm.exe)
Capture sysprepped image for deployment

Is rearming even necessary if it has not been activated?

1. First make sure your KMS host is activated (see link below). As long as your KMS host is discoverable in DNS, and your clients are on the same network, they will find the KMS host and activate.

2. The rearm process does several important things:

The grace timer is reset to 30 days of grace. After deploying the image and opening an application for the first time, prevents seeing the red bar of an unactivated installation.

The grace timer is frozen.

The client machine ID (CMID) is reset. The KMS host uses the CMID to determine the number of unique clients. To check the CMID, use the command ospp.vbs /dcmid.

3. Then capture your image.
