Project level custom enterprise calender did not change the task schedule for some projects in project server 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

In proejct server 2010, I have created a copy of standard calender and set one holiday. But when I have chosen this new calender for some existing proejcts, task schedule is not affected by the new calender setting. To check the calender is working i have chosen the new calender for the specific task and then the schedule changed correctly.

I am not sure why the task schedule is not changed when i have chosen the calender at the project level. Is there any settings for this.

    Please hlep.

    Thanks, Lovely

After you assign resources to tasks in a project, the calendar of each resource controls the schedule of the tasks in the project.  If the Base Calendar for each resource is still set to the old calendar, changing the Project Calendar may not have any affect at all in the project because the resources calendars are using the old calendar.  The reason why the calendar worked when you assigned it as a Task Calendar is because the Task Calendar will always override the schedule of the resources assigned to the task.  Hope this helps.
