Order of execution of rules extension code. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm using FIM2010 to provision AD for creating and managing Exchange2010 accounts. At this point of time I just wanted to know if there is a particular sequence in which the extension rules (flow rules) are called/executed in the same MA. Eg in the HR MA, , I have rules extension build on 3 different attributes i.e. x,y andz. (.Net code)

I want to know if the order in which the code for the attribute flow is called can be determined like x would be executed first, followed by y and then z. I assume that the order in which they are declared in the MA attribute flow GUI should determine the order?

Also would the behaviour change when running delta and full jobs.

Any help would be much appreciated!

  • As a best practice, you should always implement a design that is independent of specific processing order since there are way too many moving parts in an identity mangement implementation.
