Exchange 2003 does not create new mailboxes RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good Day,

While creating new mailbox for a domain user in Active Directory it does not create the mailbox , despite that the user is created successfully.

What I have noticed that the "Mailbox Rights" in the "Exchange Advanced" Tab just contains "Self" with read & full access permissions.

Any suggestions to solve this issue ?

    Regards

  • It is not stamped with email address..

Ok, then it explains why you can't log on to the Mailbox.
Update the RUS manually and when done look for any errors in the Application Log.

  • Hi,
The mailbox is not actually created until the user logs on or a message is sent to it.
When any of the above has happened, you will see that "Mailbox Rights" has been updated and the Mailbox is visible in System Manager.

  • The first I would check is if the mailbox has been stamped with an email address.
If that is not the case, then it would explain why you can't log on and you seem to have a problem with RUS.
