Missing Disk Space in Windows Vista RRS feed

  • Question

  • I left my computer on over night with the windows defrag program running. My free disk space plummeted from 116 GB free to  102 GB free. I know there are temp files that take up space, but ones that take up 14 GBs? What happened to all that space?

    Im sorry if this is in the wrong category. I really did not know which one to use.

  • Sir, try to delete Temp files and Run Disk Clean up :

    Start --> Run --> %TEMP%  --> Enter ---> Select All  --> Delete --> ok

    Start --> Run --> TEMP  --> Enter ---> Select All  --> Delete --> ok

    After that Right click on hard C: --> Properties  --> Disk Cleanup ,  also for another Drives. and Defragment again

  • Hi,

    You may check the size of the temp files.

    Also, the backup files will take up some space. You may refer to the following similar thread: Where has all my disk space gone?
