Running MAPS again AFTER migration/virtualization? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is the MAPS data accurate if we run it again on a VM/server that has already been migrated over to Hyper-V? Is there something better for determining resource usage on Hyper-V VMs?

  • Yes, the performance data MAP gathers from a VM is just as good as the data gathered from a physical machine.  In fact, many customers do this in order to get a ‘before & after’ snapshot of their environment.
