Aero not working on Windows 7 Home Premium RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi I have Windows 7 home premium and aero was working fine a few days ago but now the bottom bar is gray and everything looks boring compared to windows aero and when i try to change the color from personalize it just brings me to the windows color and appearance screen. I bought my computer from Dell with Windows 7 installed. I tried using the aero troubleshooter and it said i needed to upgrade my edition of windows to use it but doesn't it work with Windows 7 home premium edition? Here is the Genuine Advantage Diagnostic info.

  • If i use the recovery partition to restore it, will i still have to backup all my files? And i put my files on external hard drive right? Thank you Andre Ziegler

  • I never made a restore from a recovery partition. But copy all personal files to the external HDD to backup them.
