Embed a Yammer "open-graph" page feed in a Script Editor Web Part: Cannot add comments.

    Question

  • Hi All,

    I followed these Office Support instructions("Add a page feed" section) : https-//support.office.com/en-US/Article/Embed-a-Yammer-feed-into-a-SharePoint-site-4817d2fa-50f6-4f25-88a0-a312745768d4?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US&fromAR=1.

    I'd like to give users a way to give editors feedback on some informational pages in SharePoint. The setup is that editors can edit and create new informational pages (articles), and users - as readers - cannot edit the page but should be able to discuss the page and give quick feedback to the editors.

    So, after I added the script (configured for my environment) into the script editor webpart, the yammer window indeed renders correctly, and I'm automatically logged in.

    Unfortunately, my issue is that I can't seem to post anything on that page. I can type some text fine, but once I press 'post', it asks me to first include a group or user. If I add a user, it keeps asking me. If I include a group, it posts successfully, but the post does not show up on the page. The post instead shows up in the group feed. How do I make the post show up in the open-graph/page feed? Am I doing something wrong?

    Here is the script for your review:

    <div id="embedded-feed" style="height:400px;width:500px;"></div>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="https://assets.yammer.com/assets/platform_embed.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript"> yam.connect.embedFeed({
             container: "#embedded-feed",
             network: "companyName.sharepoint.com",
             feedType: "open-graph",
             objectProperties: { url: "https://companyName.sharepoint.com/sites/TestSC/Pages/test2.aspx" , type: "page" } });
    </script>

    Thanks so much for your help!

  • Hi,

    Yes, I can reproduce this scenario.

    Users need to post a thread under a group, which is designed by Yammer.

    Thus, in the Yammer feed embed in SharePoint site, you have to select the group to post your thread, which is the same as Yammer site.

    Thanks,

    Dean Wang
