Skype for business 2016 client strange Call Work number RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have one user, his SFB 2016 has a Call Work number and cannot be found anywhere(AD property, e-workplace, SFB client option, Outlook contact ).

Can I know how to remove this number?

    Thanks a lot.

  • Hi,

I think maybe it could check the use in back-end database.

Right click the “rtcab” – “New Query”,

First run the command to get the user id.

Select * from dbo.AbAttributeValue where Value like '%user%'

Then check the information about this user by the id.

Select Name,Value from rtcab.dbo.AbAttributeValue,rtcab.dbo.AbAttribute where AttrId=Id and UserId = 'xx'

If still no luck, check the rtclocal database with DBAnalyze.exe in ResKit tool. On the frontend server, run the following command under “C:\Program Files\Skype for Business Server 2015\ResKit\”:

    .\DBAnalyze.exe /report:user /user:username@domain.com /sqlserver:SFBFE\RTCLocal  > c:\temp\sqlexportusername.txt”

Then check the user information in the export file.

  • Hi Moore,

Did the user change the work number recently?

Do others also see the call work number, or only just specific user?

What is the version of your environment, Skype for Business on-premise (2013/2015) or O365?

In my experience, the call work number is usually related to the AD attribute “telephoneNumber”.

And if the user changed the number recently, usually it may take a day to update the item in Lync address book on Skype for Business on-premise server. Try to run “Update-CsUserdatabase” and “update-csaddressbook” to force update the Lync address book on the server side, then clear the user sip profile cache (%userprofile%\Appdata\Local\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Lync\sip_xxx), and re-login to check the item value.

  • Hi Shaw,

User didn't change the call work number. We are using the SFB 2015 on-premise and the client version is 16.0.4822.1000.

AD attribute also cannot see this number.

Cache was cleaned  but didn't help.

    Is there any other reason?
