  • Hi Spud,

Here are a couple of links to get you on your way to this type of functionality.  Basically, you'll build a calculated member or use an MDX expression to obtain the current date for your view.  Please post back with any questions:

  • If you have the ProClarity Selector add-in installed (Business Logic Server), you can generate a time-dynamic Named Set that can be used in all of your reports.  When launching the Selector, set the Current Hierarchy drop-down to the Time hierarchy.  You will then be able to choose to Filter by Time in the Add Items dialog.  You can select the Month (or Week or Day) level and set the filter to "Keep Items" that are "the latest" 1.  This will create a set that represents the Current Month (or Week or Day).

If you don't have the Selector add-in, you can build a set by hand either in the cube or in the client tool (I recommend doing it in the cube).  Here is some example MDX from AdventureWorks to help you:

    TAIL(NONEMPTY([Date].[Calendar].[Month].Members, [Measures].[Internet Sales Amount]), 1)
