Question
-
I just made the worst blunder of my life I upgraded to Win7, which to me is the perfect interface for Tablets I guess the days of the 'Mouse' are numbered, Anyways I wanted to know IF there is any FREE software for Terminal Emulation (VT 100 something close to Hyperterminal) for Win7.
Early Reply would be Highly Appreciated.

Steve

Win7Slave,
Since windows vista Hyper terminal is not included anymore in windows Vista.
You can read the following article form Microsoft with some alternative solutions.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/What-happened-to-HyperTerminal
So you can try a 3rd Part tool like Putty.
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html
Or just the quick and dirty way (Not supported by MS)

i totally recommend putty. Anyone that admins unix boxes and must be in windows has this loaded. I would add you could also run putty configuration manager. I have that set up to maintain my TSM servers.
I just found out that there is a native 64bit putty... roughly 30% faster than the 32bit version.

I tried all, The original software worked with every verison of windows except W7 32bit or 64bit.
The PCS is to expensive to replace and works great with Windows XP in control.
I can save the headace and put Windows 7 in the recycle bin.
Thanks for the response.

Hi,
Have you tried pulling the HyperTerminal from the XP release and using it in Windows 7?
