copying project task details with Dates, dependency and notes into another project RRS feed

    Is there a way to copy project task details with dates, dependency and notes into another project efficiently without losing details? I am trying to copy but loosing data like dates, dependency notes

    Kindly suggest

    If you click the row header to the left of the ID number, this will select the entire row, including columns that are not currently displayed.  If you copy the entire row and then paste it in another project, it should copy all of the information you seek.  Hope this helps.

  • This trick should work. I have 2013 version, so if you have a different version, adjust the commands accordingly.

    1) Open the Destination project, and click on Project >> Subproject

    2) Select and Insert the Source project where you want it.

    3) Now click on the Source Project name and open Task information Panel, and go to Advanced. 

    4) Uncheck the box which links the source project.

    Now the entire subproject just becomes a summary task with sub tasks beneath, preseving all your dependencies and notes.
