  • Hi,

    Thank you for your reply.

However, have you checked the model of the PC and the driver version for Windows 8 which I suggest you in last post? Please kindly tell me the result after you check.

If you want to return back to Windows 7, you have to perform clean installation. Please remember all you files before you return back.

    Best Regards

  • More often than not when a device isn't working it is because the driver has become corrupted. Re-installing a fresh copy should help

Completely remove the current driver and install the newest driver available.  For instructions on how to do that Read all about updating drivers by my partner JMH3143 here http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki/windows_other-hardware/updating-a-driver/a5e6345e-af9b-4099-bef0-8d22254aa1c1?tm=1436753520149

  • Windows 8.x is NOT supported in this computer model

Do a search and try to use unofficial drivers. Try to contact audio chip vendor and ask for help there.

  • Hi,

Firstly, we haven’t found the model which you mentioned from the official website. Please confirm your laptop model.

After you find the correct model, go to the manufacturer official website to download the audio driver for Windows 8. If the manufacturer official site doesn’t have the driver for Windows 8, you need to contact the manufacturer for help.

If you have installed the official audio driver and there is no exclamation in Device Manager but it still doesn’t work, please follow the steps to fix the issue.

    1. Go to “Control Panel” > “Hardware and Sound”. Please check “Adjust System Sounds” and “Change System sounds” to know whether you disable or make the device silent.
    2. Go to “Control panel” > “Troubleshooting” > “Troubleshoot audio playback”.
    3. If the steps above failed, type “Services” in search box and enter. Then find “Windows Audio” service in the list and restart it. If it still doesn’t work, you need to repair registry about this service and then check the issue.

Just try to copy the code below into notepad and save it as .reg. Then import the file under the path in registry:

Note: To avoid unexpected error after the registry key change, please backup your registry key first.
