Vista Hard Disk Space Problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

I have Windows Vista Ultimate edition. I have a 40 GB hard disk with 2 partitions. The problem is initially the size of my System partition (C: ) was 16.5 GB. I was running out of space. So I downloaded Acronis Disk Director and extended the free space on my C Partition. However during the partitioning it showed some I/O error, then BSOD and finally restarted.

Then when Windows loaded, I opened my computer and this is what it is like:

However, when I use Disk Management, it shows the hard disk structure:

This is also the case with Acronis Disk Director. Both of them show 28.11 GB when the space actually is 16.5 GB (the same as before partitioning)

What is the solution to this? I am running out of space on C: . . .

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
