One brief moment of some ones time.  I am interested in learning more about O.S.'s  Windows Xp.  I have read  through this book.  Microsoft Official Academic Course : 70-270.  Installing, Configuring and Administering Microsoft Windows Xp Professional.  Believing this book regarding  taking exams to be certified in the Operating System Windows Xp.  Reading the book it covers Installing Windows Xp Operating System, Managing Disk and File Systems, Configuring and Managing Shared Folder Security, Connecting Windows Xp to a Professional Network......  I would like to read more about another aspect of Windows Xp.  O.S..  But going more in a direction for example of troubleshooting and diagnosing  a hard drive problem or what to do  when a computer does not turn on and  perhaps the software's  behind that.  If some one could please  recommend a book.  Please provide a title, author or ISBN#.  Thank you.

  • There are many books, few on them :

But, why are you going for outdated OS? May be you can start with Windows 7.

  • Hi, in the learning.microsoft.com catalog you can search for, e.g., "XP" and "books".  The books are rather old now, but if they were published by MS Press and shipped with companion media (CD or DVD) you can download the ISO at O'Reilly.  If you're lucky you can stumble over a bonus chapter or free e-book.

  • Hello

Thanks for you well appreciated response.  Trying your suggestions.  Some books provided were E Books.  While one other book I  found through your search  entitled Windows Xp Unleashed can not be ordered through my local bookstore. By chance if you have the time can you suggest a few others.  I am also using the older operating system as a test computer.  As you can see I am some what eager.  Thank you kindly.

  • Glenn,

You can search Amazon or ebay for books. Or google for e-books. There are no specific books for this.
