  • Question

  • Hi All,

    I am trying to export the subsite. the below batch file  executes perfectly but it creates duplicate records as...

    My Site Collection : http://ServerName/MD/CA/

    Inside this site collection i have two language sub sites corresponds to

    My Site Collection : http://ServerName/MD/CA/en-US   --- English Language

    My Site Collection : http://ServerName/MD/CA/es-ES   --- Spanish Language

    Batch File :

    ---------

    @ECHO OFF

    @SET STSADM="c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\web server extensions\12\bin\stsadm.exe"

    %STSADM% -o export -url "http://ServerName/MD/CA/en-US"  -filename "md-ca-en-US.cmp"

    pause

    :End

    --------

    Output file names:

    md-ca-en-US.cmp

    md-ca-en-US1.cmp

    md-ca-en-US2.cmp

    md-ca-en-US3.cmp

    md-ca-en-US4.cmp

    md-ca-en-US5.cmp

    md-ca-en-US6.cmp

    Can anybody help me why it was creating duplicate records. Appreciate your Help

  • Hello,

    While exporting the site/subsite, the CMP files get created in the batches. Its not a duplicate record but a piece of export. Combining all these create a complete backup (or we say export)

    by-default it takes 25 MB for each chunk and then next chunk creates.

    To change this size(and minimize the number of splits), use -cabsize parameter in the export

    Please refer: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc288940(v=office.12)

    Hope this helps,
