Outlook 2007 Locks Up Opening Calendar Entries RRS feed

  • Question

  • Running MS Office 2007 Pro Plus on a MS WinXP laptop (Intel i5, 3GB RAM), connected to a corporate Exchange server.

Whenever I try to open multiple calendar entries, Outlook locks up, starts to utilize most of the processor, and has to be "End Tasked" to close the process.  If I run Outlook in Safe Mode, I have no issues (can open multiple calendar entries).

    • I have disabled all macros and there are no Add-Ons currently installed or running
    • I have tried building a new profile and ahve the same lock up problem
    • I have tried "Repairing" the installation
    • Deleted the data file (*.OST) and allowed the software to re-sync with the Exchange server
    • My computer is the only one with this issue

Unable to find any settings or plugins that are different between regular mode and safe mode. Any suggestions would be helpful...

  • Hi,

It seems like the Calendar items will be scanned by other programs when you open it.
Please try performing advanced clean-boot troubleshooting in Windows XP

  • Sorry for replying late, been swamped... I tried all of those things.  Nothing seemed to work to resolve this issue.  Then suddenly the issue "went away" yesterday and luckily it has not returned yet.  I have not worked on this issue for a few weeks, so I have not made any changes recently and still have no idea on what caused the problem.

    Thanks for the suggestions!
