Agree with Paul, repair Office installation via Control Panel is the first thing that you need to try. It can solve lots of basic issues.
If issue persists, you might need to check in the Event Viewer and see if there is anything useful recorded out there.
Another step that I'd also suggest you to try is to test under Safe Mode, this will help to determine whether the issue was caused by any third party add-ins, e.g. a faulty print add-in:
Press Win + R and type "winword.exe /safe" in the blank box, then press Enter.
