Hardware Scan

Question

Hi guys,
I noticed some of my collections based on queries are not updating as expected.
However looking at a lot of my active devices, they are showing as having no HARDWARE SCAN.
Am I correct in saying this will only happen if the hardware inventory is Enabled in the Client Policy Settings? Mine is currently disabled.
I have some devices with hardware scan, but I think this was when I first installed SCCM and then went about messing around with the policy. So if I enable this function it should then scan the clients..

Inventory has to be enabled; clients won't sent it if it's disabled.

Hi Torsten,
If I change the default client settings, will this then apply to already installed agents?
Do I need to right-click the collection and update the policy settings first?
In the administration panel, if i look at my default client settings, the deployments tab is showing as 0?
Is that right...

Default client settings are applied to each client automatically. No separate deployment needed. Clients will get that information when the next policy polling cycle ran.
