Sec AD at sec site RRS feed

  • Question

  • Ok let me first start off by letting you know what I have and what I would like to do.

Here in the states I have a 2012 R2 Standard server with my AD, GPO and everything ells installed to it. I need to place a Sec server in a different country. I want the AD and GPO to fallow the new serve in the different country like an extension of the first server just only a few services.  We have office 365 for our email and our AD is backed up to Azure. Any thoughts on the best way to deploy this. Thanks for the input.

  • Hello,

You could add the new server and promote it as additional domain controller for your AD domain. This way you will get the AD database replicated , sysvol with GPOs and netlogon scripts replicated and you can have it (recommended) as DNS server holding your dns zones.

Below you can find more information on this.

    Hope this helps.
