Event ID: 1550 [Directory Servic Log] | The following site has no NTDS Site Settings child object | on all DC's

    Question

  • Hi,

This event makes no sense since I have NTDS Site settings set in ADSS for China site:

    - I have 2 connections:

    <automatically generated> | DC02 | Madrid | Connection

     DC01                             | DC01 | Paris | Connection

The following site has no NTDS Site Settings child object.

    Site:
    CN=China,CN=Sites,CN=Configuration,DC=lemon,DC=com

    User Action
Create an NTDS Site Settings object for this site.

    What could be causing this?

  • Hi

You should delete the site and recreate it, thereby allowing the KCC to rebuild the inter-site topology.(if there is misconfig on toplogy.)

Then if issue persist, try to demote and promote (DC) again on this problematic site.At the same time, you should check port availability between site's.

  • Hi Burak,

Let me add that replication is working fine, AD Accounts, DNS, SYSVOL, NETLOGON shares- all working OK.

I did have an FRS 13508 before but restarting NTFRS service resolved this.

Do I still have to recreate the whole site or just the add a connection to NTDS Settings (at all)?

  • Hi

You should just recreate on problematic site, not for whole site's.
