I am trying to create a white list of applications that can run on my Windows 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Hosts. I have come pretty far, but I'm banging my head against the wall with Internet Explorer 11 and Java 8.
If I enable Java in the browser through Java Control Panel, I get an error message immediately when I start Internet Explorer; "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer". I am having a hard time figuring
out which application I should allow to prevent this error message.
The Java related .exe-files I have included in the white list is java.exe, javacpl.exe, javaw.exe and javaws.exe.
I have run Process Monitor trying to find what application is being blocked, but I haven't been able to find anything.
Does anybody know what file(s) to include in the white list?
Any tips on how to troubleshoot this is greately appreciated.
