What SQL permissions are required to run SSRS 2012 reports? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Greetings to all.
    Please help solve the problem.
What permissions SQL 2012 are required to run SSRS 2012 report?
When I run a SSRS 2012 report, with permissions SQL database administrator, it works. When a user runs the SSRS 2012 report (no admin sql) error occurs:

An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
Cannot create a connection to data source 'DWDataMart'. (rsErrorOpeningConnection)
For more information about this error navigate to the report server on the local server machine, or enable remote errors

If I make the user an administrator sql server, Everything will work. What permissions are required?

  • Hello,

How about adding the user account to Report Users role. When you install SCSM, reporting account is needed, the account is Used by SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) to access the DWDataMart database to get data for reporting.
It will becomes a member of the db_datareader database role for the DWDataMart database.
and also becomes a member of the reportuser database role for the DWDatamart database.

You may try to add the account as member of db_datareader and reportuser and check the result.

  • Thanks for your help! It's work!

    I have another strange problem.
When I connect to instance Reporting Services, then right-click on the objects and get the error.
This problem only in SSRS 2012
