Migrating from Project Server 2003 to Project Server 2010 - WBS values are replaced with outline numbers RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We are preparing to migrate from project server 2003 to project server 2010.  We have experimented with migrating the data and noticed the WBS values were replaced with outline numbers.  Is there way to to avoid this, or is our best solution to first copy the WBS values to another field so they are not lost in the migration process?  What field should we use?

    Thank you!

  • Hi Donna,

I've not migrated from PS2003 to PS2010, but if what you are saying is true, I would copy the WBS values to an Enterprise Custom Text field, and then copy that back.  However, my worry is that once you overwrite the WBS field, it is no longer automatically updated, which may or may not be what you want (presumably because you want to copy them over from PS2003, you have already amended them).
