Read and unread list items RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, i need to create a rss file that only contains the list items haven't been readed by the user that request the rss file. The main problem i have, is that i don't know how i can mark a list item as read. Does Sharepoint provide some procedure to do this??

    Thanks.

  • Apart from using a web analytic tool that can show you how many times a page was requested, you could have a control that sits on the blog page that logs the number of times it was requested, you could store the title of the blog or URL and then an ever increasing number that increments each time the specific blog page is requested - showing you the number of times it was "read".

  • Hello,
generally it is up to the users RSS reader application to take care of this (read/unread), so the RSS standard has no support for this.
So you have to make some form of custom RSS page which stores the posts that the users have read.
