Sharepoint Web Application HTTPS with SSL certificate configuration not working.-- Azure VM

    Question

  • Hi

Could you please help me on applying SSL Certificate for a Web Application in SharePoint 2013.

Issue: I am unable to open the site with Https, even after complete configuration of SSL certificate.

    Description:

I have created and configured the SSL certificate by following the steps in the below URL, but still I am not able to open the site with https.

    Steps followed:

1.Created Self Signed Certificate on IIS 8 (Provided certificate license by client)

    2. Import Self Signed Certificate to SharePoint Certificate store

    3. Add Self Signed Certificate to trust management in Central Administration

    4. Configure IIS Binding

    5. Configure AAM

    Troubleshooting:

    1. I have added the web application to the local host and tried to access the site using Https, it is working.

    2. DisableLoopbackCheck is already set to 1 in all the servers.

Note: we have 1 load balancer, 1 app server and 2 WFE's which are Azure VM's.

Are we missing to enable or to configure anything in Azure portal?

Please provide your inputs and thoughts over the same.

  • What happens when you try to open the site in HTTPS?

    Does it work on HTTP?

  • Yes it works when we open the url using http, one small observation that if we add Internal IP and site name in host file i am able to access even using https.

Please guide me on the same.
