Asked by:
What happened to the Word document properties Custom tab?

Question
-
We have noticed that when you right click on a Word document and select properties that the Custom tab is not being displayed. We would like to look at the custom document properties without opening the actual document. Is this something that has been changed?

Hi,
As far as I know, the Custom tab is only available for Word 97-2003 formats (such as .doc). The settings on that tab aren't supported for the Word 2007 and later file formats (such as .docx). It's by design.
For custom properties of the Word 2007 and later file formats, you need to open them in Word and view or change custom properties.
Here is a thread on the similar problem for your reference: MS Word 2007 documents not showing Customs Tab property.
Hope the information was helpful. If you have any updates, feel free to post back to let us know.
Best Regards,
Herb
