WSUS Client cannot download updates from WSUS Server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,

I've set up WSUS in WS2012R2 and 1 test client also running WS2012R2.

I encountered a problem where the client is able to contact and check for updates from WSUS server, but when the install button is clicked, it will show an error 80244019.

I tried wsusutil reset, but no avail. Port is ok, firewall for domain and private networks are off. Permission seems OK in WSUS content folder. The Download Job is created successfully according to WU log,  but I find this line in the log:

DnldMgr Error 0x80244019 occurred while downloading update; notifying dependent calls

I also got a lot of this line in the log and don't have any idea about what it is:

AU WARNING: Failed to get Wu Exemption info from NLM, assuming not exempt, error = 0x80240037

What should I do so that the client will be able to download the updates?

  • Hi Wendy,

    Thanks for your response.

Will try to update the WSUS host first, will let you know the outcome!

  • Hi Wendy,

I have tried your solution and now WSUS works, thanks a lot!

What seemed to be my problem is that I set the WsusContent folder in network naming convention. When I change it to local address (in WSUS server itself), clients in my lab environment are able to download the updates.
