Auto Schedule? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am testing our SSRS 2008 deployment.  I have 69 SSRS 2005 subscriptions that were not scheduled on SQL 2008 Server (the subscriptions were configured, but the SQL Agent Job was not created).  On Friday night at about 8:45 PM, the 69 SQL Agent jobs were created on SQL 2008 Server.  Is there some sort of routine in SSRS 2008 that checks whether or not subscriptions are scheduled in SQL and creates the SQL Agent Job if it does not exist?

  • Yes - the report server periodically monitors the schedules known to the system and checks the corresponding SQL Agent Jobs for:
    1) Existence
    2) Changes

If the Agent job does not exist, a new one is created.  If any changes were made to the Agent job, it is updated with the original settings as saved in the SSRS server.

    Hope that helps,
