Timesheet Data Mismatch in PWA and MS Project Server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

One of my fellow associate entered 7 hours each for the days 17th March to 21st March. He submitted timesheet, imported timesheet and submitted the task, and it got approved by the manager, and PM has published the project schedule.

But when I extract the data from OLAP (server) to find his actual efforts entered by him for the above days, it is reflecting 8.5 hrs , 9 hrs 8 hrs but not 7 hrs for even a single day of the week,

somewhere the transaction is getting lost.

even after recalling the timesheet and after following all the above steps, still data mismatch was there.

I'm using MSPS 2007. out of hundreds of employees, this is happening for quite for a few employees

Can someone please help with this problem.

  • Hi Shankar,

Check with the PM if the task in Project Pro has any constraints. This could trigger this kind of strange actuals spreading.

First of all, you should have SP3 and the latest CU here: http://blogs.technet.com/b/projectsupport/archive/2013/06/14/microsoft-project-server-2007-2010-and-2013-june-2013-cu-announcement.aspx

Then since you're doing reporting on the OLAP DB, you could check that it has correctly been built. You could also query the Reporting DB to find out where is the culprit.

    Hope this helps.

  • Hi Guillaume,

    Thanks for your reply.

There is some permissions needed to install SP3.

Hope this will clear the problem
