BSOD 0x0000101 caused by ntoskrnl.exe windows 7 x64 RRS feed

  • Question

  •  I use a dell inspiron and the trouble started when my bundled antivirus McAfee started getting turned off by itself. after a day or two i got my first BSOD with the culprit driver being netio.sys. so i uninstalled my antivirus and installed avast! instead. But now there seems to be a new problem...instead of the netio.sys error i get a ntoskrnl.exe error(which occurs mostly while going for a shutdown). i am pretty sure it is not a hardware issue, i have run tests and my parallel windows 7 (ultimate) installation runs the system without a glitch. i am giving a list of the errors :

  • Bug Check 0xD1: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

This indicates that a kernel-mode driver attempted to access pageable memory at a process IRQL that was too high.

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff560244%28VS.85%29.aspx

    Bug Check 0x101: CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT

This indicates that an expected clock interrupt on a secondary processor, in a multi-processor system , was not received within the allocated interval.

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff557211%28VS.85%29.aspx

    Cause

The specified processor is not processing interrupts. Typically, this occurs when the processor is nonresponsive or is deadlocked.

To see the cause I have to take a look at the dumps with the Debugging Tools for Windows.

Please start the Windows Explorer and go to the folder C:\Windows\Minidump. Next, copy the dmp files to your desktop, zip all dmp into 1 zip file and upload the zip file to your public Skydrive [1] folder and post a link here.

  • only make sure that you don't cut the power while doing the update. It is safe and I have done this several times.

  • Hello, I'm having the same problem too and it's getting to be really annoying.

I'm wondering if this is a hardware or software issue and if there is any solid way to fix this. I have check most of my drivers and they seem to be okay...

I've uploaded my minidumps onto Mediafire (These are the ones which saved properly. Most of the time, the BSOD occurs when gaming and I need to reconnect so I usually power off before the dumps can be saved) Hopefully they are sufficient.

    http://www.mediafire.com/?o6z74as07tc65a0

Any help would be greatly appreciated and if there are any questions, I will answer them to the best of my ability.

    Thanks
