scsm 2010 portal login prompt from external network RRS feed

  • Question

  • hi

Is there a way to avoid the login prompts that comes up to access SCSM end user portal from outside our network?

Inside network, i have added it in the safe browsing content, hence not asking for credentials.

How to achieve this for users who access from outside our network?

If not possible, how to reduce the no. of login prompts? currently it asks for 3 times to complete the authentication.

  • What type of firewall are you using to allow external access to the portal? Most firewalls have a single sign-on feature that you can use to allow the credentials to be passed through to multiple internal sites. The link below is an example of how to perform this using TMG.

  • Yes We use Sonicwall Firewall for accessing this portal.

But how to make a policy for external users who use non domain machines to access this portal without authentication?

  • You can configure your Internet Options-Security-Custom and choose to pass credentials to all sites.  That is one of the last options at the bottom of the custom security page.

  • The portal is trying to use Kerberos authentication. You would need to use a reverse proxy solution like TMG/ISA to enable pass through authentication.
